Ghosts and Impressions is a film poem made from discarded 16mm film. I coated the wasted footage with linocut inks, pressed it into paper using a hydraulic press, and animated the remnants. The work explores labor and its relationship to value, tracing what is left behind and what is deemed expendable. It gestures toward the residue of effort, the ghosts of process, and quietly questions the film industry's obsession with visible labor as a measure of artistic worth. Beneath its surface, the piece reflects on how systems shape what is preserved, what is praised, and what is thrown away.
